Welcome to IndiSky, India's Largest Airline

IndiSky launched on June 9, 2024, with its headquarters in Delhi and an initial fleet of 14 Airbus A320-200s, based at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM). Within a month, the airline grew to over 100 aircraft, focusing on underserved routes. To alleviate slot restrictions at BOM and DEL, IndiSky established its primary hub at Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), now its main international hub with 50 aircraft and over 3,000 weekly departures. Additional bases were eventually opened in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Kochi.

Year overview and future plans:

During its New Year review, IndiSky identified inefficiencies in its fleet of nearly 100 Airbus A330neo widebodies, which were often used on domestic and short-haul routes better suited to smaller aircraft like the A321neo or A321LR. These inefficiencies, with A330neos spread across nine bases, constrained profitability.

To streamline operations, IndiSky decided to reduce its widebody fleet from 93 to 45 aircraft and consolidate bases from nine to four. Following the sudden availability of 40 Boeing 787s on the second-hand market, the board resolved on January 17 to retire the A330neo fleet immediately, replacing it with a smaller, more efficient fleet of Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft.
