Welcome to IndiSky, India's Largest Airline
IndiSky launched on June 9, 2024, with its headquarters in Delhi and an initial fleet of 14 Airbus A320-200s, based at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM). Within a month, the airline grew to over 100 aircraft, focusing on underserved routes. To alleviate slot restrictions at BOM and DEL, IndiSky established its primary hub at Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), now its main international hub with 50 aircraft and over 3,000 weekly departures. Additional bases were eventually opened in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Kochi.
December 2024 update:
After acquiring prime airport slots from the defunct JetIndia, demand forecasts for the Indian aviation market have changed. IndiSky's management now considers the A220s too small for the airline's network, which is lowering profits overall. IndiSky also needed an aircraft bigger than the 737-9 but smaller than the A330s for trunk domestic routes.
With this in mind, IndiSky ordered 140 Airbus A320neo's and 100 Airbus A321neos.
